Did you know that less than one in five water workers are women?

In 2019, research by the World Bank’s Water Global Practice found that women were also underrepresented in technical and managerial positions. Although the gender gap between female and male entrepreneurs is closing, there is still room for improvement and especially in the water world. The World Bank report highlighted that the gender gap in water-related employment needs to be closed if the world is to reach its commitments on water and sanitation for all.

Aquacycl’s CEO, Orianna Bretschger, is one of four female founders in water helping close this gap.
