The Task At Hand:
The Director of Operations will drive efficiency and scalability in overall company operations, safety, logistics, and compliance. The Director will also oversee all operational teams; Manufacturing, Finance, Facility, Administrative Support, and People & Culture. This role demands a proactive, resourceful problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution. The ideal person is an empathetic and decisive leader, capable of managing shifting priorities, driving efficiency, and fostering strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
In This Role, You Will:
Oversee the company’s day-to-day activities, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. Drive efficiency and scalability across all teams of the business including engineering, sales & marketing, R&D, administrative support, manufacturing, finance, people & culture, field systems operations.
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Oversees company-wide programs that drive team performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Leads, develops, and supports departmental managers to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Support strategic planning and contribute to long-term growth initiatives.
- Supports the company with workforce planning, hiring, training, and performance management to optimize team effectiveness.
Operational & Financial Performance
- Oversees budget tracking, P&L analysis, and financial forecasting to drive cost efficiency and profitability.
- Modifies forecasts based on financial performance, market conditions, and operational needs.
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards to evaluate the company’s efficiency and effectiveness, regularly identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Leads company-wide operational programs to optimize resource allocation and maximize revenue growth.
- Oversees cross-functional collaboration to streamline business operations, supply chain, and workflow efficiencies.
- Identifies, evaluates, and implements process improvements that enhance financial and operational performance.
Compliance, Risk Management & Business Continuity
- Ensures company-wide adherence to financial, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and enforces policies and procedures that mitigate risk and maintain operational stability.
- Oversees workplace safety, facilities management, and compliance programs to ensure a secure and efficient work environment.
- Builds a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and operational excellence across the organization.
In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:
- Experience with ERP implementation for asset tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
- 8+ years in operations leadership in hardware, logistics, low-volume manufacturing, or environmental services.
- Proven ability to optimize operations, scale and standardize processes, and improve efficiency.
- Experience in finance, HR, and QuickBooks Online.
- Knowledge of industrial EHS programs, OSHA compliance, and transportation logistics.
- Strong project management skills
- Outstanding communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Resourceful, critical thinker with a high level of initiative. Confident decision-maker with flexibility to pivot on projects and shift priorities quickly.
- Empathetic leader with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle diverse tasks and effectively engage with all levels of staff and external partners across multiple domestic and international locations.
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with international entity and vendor processes (UK, NL, MX).
Location:
- Ability to travel to the Escondido office on a daily basis.
Compensation:
- $125k-$135k annually
